Digging Solid Crates or simply DSC
Meet our clients who trusted Mind The Wax to press their music on vinyl!
Listening to the “Elements Of Survival” for the first time was a very positive surprise before I forward the audio files for the mastercut process.
The music the “Digging Solid Crates” create is obviously made with a lot of passion and respect to the code of Hip-Hop. Heavy beats, sharp cuts and sampled raps on their best!
Digging Solid Crates, Dusty Sound Cave… or simply just DSC! They are a crew based in Greece that started back in 2006. They started as a graffiti crew back then but in the later years they got involved with other elements of Hip-Hop such as DJing and Beat making. The DSC members are DJ Mechs on the wheels of steel and Wa (BBNZ) on the drum machines. Recently the released their 4th release, Elements of Survival.

“The inspiration for the album, as for every other of ours, came from the love we have for music and creativity. The album took a long time to be completed due to the extraordinary circumstances which prevailed during the last year with covid and the pandemic. It was completed and released in early November 2021. The title “Elements of Survival”, its artwork and the music of the album reflect our artistic identity as a band.“
“The production of the album took place in our home studio. The “tools” we used to make this album are drum machines, turntables, mixers & lots of vinyl records. Specifically for the beats, we mainly used Maschine MK2 and Roland SP-404SX. All cuts were made with Vestax PDF 2000 and Technics MK2 turntables and a Traktor Z2 mixer.“

“The beats contain samples from soul, jazz, classical rock and various music libraries up to Greek folk songs. However, beyond the sampling there are also chord progressions, synths and basslines that complete the music composition of the album. From the side of the scratches, we used various space sound effects, phrases from classic US and Greek rap tracks. The album contains also 3 remixes of classic Rap tracks as a bonus.“
“Furthermore, the track “Turntable infection” features the DJ Junk33. The mixing and mastering for this track was done by Logos Apeili in IamHipHop studio. “
“The album is pressed on 140 grams black vinyl and there are only 100 pieces available. There are also available 50 collectible cassettes in a gray color. The LP, the cassettes and all our merchandise can be found in our Bandcamp page
